PETER SCOTT'S 'BRITISH BIRDS' 35 x SILVER MEDAL COLLECTION OVER 2.3KG OF SILVER PROOF MEDALS IN CASE in Hornchurch, Greater London for sale

The collection is titled 'Peter Scott's British Birds' and consists of 35 silver proof medals, each of which weighs over 66 grams and measures 51mm in diameter giving over 2.3kg in silver. The total silver weight in this collection is huge and the set has a limited mintage of just 2,000. It comes in a wooden collectors cabinet which is in good condition (a hint of pulling at the back hinge) but still perfectly useable. It has its COA. One coin has a crack across the face of the plastic holder but the coin is still FDC. A few coins have hints of peripheral toning but this set is truly excellent. A similar set sold in a London Coin Auction as long ago as early 2012 for £1200 hammer price which would have meant a total of around £1400 + after commission and taxes. I have never seen a full collection listed for sale on Greatbritainlisted before but I have seen the individual medals selling for £42.50 each, uncased and with no paperwork, which would make a total of £1487. I was offering these for sale on Greatbritainlisted but can offer them cheaper here due to the lack of fees. Within the Past week alone the price of silver has risen by 7.4% at the time of writing. The medals can either be collected for cash from Hornchurch in Essex or they can be sent by courier.
